Supported Independent Living

A home of your own choosing, with support available day and night. You decide how you live, and we help with the things you need help with.

What SIL support looks like

  • Help with personal care, meals, medication and household tasks
  • Support to build skills for more independence over time
  • Rostered support, including overnight, matched to your needs
  • Help getting to work, appointments, family visits and activities
  • Housemates matched on personality, interests and support needs

Is SIL right for you?

SIL usually suits adults who need some level of support every day and want to live away from the family home. It’s funded through the Core budget of your NDIS plan.

Common questions

What’s the difference between SIL and SDA?

SIL is the support you receive at home. SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) is funding for the home itself, for people with very high support needs. Some people have both. We provide SIL and work with SDA providers on the housing.

Can I visit a home before deciding?

Yes. We arrange a visit and a chance to meet housemates before anyone moves in.

Do I need SIL in my plan already?

Not always. If you think you need SIL, we can help you gather what your NDIS planner needs to consider it.

Can I keep my current support workers?

Where we can, yes. Continuity matters, and we match rosters with that in mind.
